Ingredients
- 200 g All-purpose flour
- 200 g Ground beef
- 0.5 medium Onion
- 200 g Greek yogurt
- 50 g Butter
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 0.5 tsp Sumac powder
- 1 large Egg
Method
- 1
Mix the flour with 1 egg, salt, and 2-3 tbsp water until a stiff dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes, then cover and rest for 10 minutes.
- 2
Finely chop the onion. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onion for 2 minutes until soft.
- 3
Add the ground beef and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside to cool.
- 4
Roll the dough out thin and cut into 1-inch squares. Place a small pinch of beef filling on each square.
- 5
Fold each square into a triangle, then bring the corners together to seal. Repeat with all the dough.
- 6
Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil. Cook the mantı in batches until they float, then boil for 2 more minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.
- 7
Mince the garlic. Melt the remaining 40g butter in a small pan over medium heat, add the garlic and sumac, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 8
Top the hot mantı with Greek yogurt and drizzle the sumac butter over. Serve immediately.
