Worked out from the ingredients. How we work out our numbers
Ingredients
- 300 ml Whole milk
- 1 tsp Ground turmeric
- 5 g Fresh ginger
- 2 whole Green cardamom pods
- 0.3 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp Honey
- 1 pinch Black pepper
Method
- 1
Grate the 5g of fresh ginger and lightly crush the 2 green cardamom pods with the flat of a knife so they split.
- 2
Pour 300ml of whole milk into a small saucepan and add the grated ginger, the crushed cardamom pods, 1 tsp ground turmeric, a quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of black pepper. Set it over low heat and warm for 6 minutes, stirring now and then, until it steams gently and is stained deep gold. Do not let it boil or it will catch.
- 3
Take the pan off the heat, lift out the cardamom pods and stir in 2 tsp of honey until it dissolves. Adding it at this stage keeps the honey's flavour intact.
- 4
Pour into a mug through a small sieve to catch the ginger, and drink it warm.
