Worked out from the ingredients. How we work out our numbers
Ingredients
- 300 ml Oat milk
- 15 g Tahini
- 10 g Cocoa powder
- 30 g Pea protein powder
- 1 whole Medjool dates (pitted)
- 0.3 tsp Ground cinnamon
Method
- 1
Tear the 1 pitted Medjool date into small pieces. In a small saucepan, whisk the 15g of tahini with a splash of the oat milk while it is still cold, until it turns from stiff to pourable. Tahini seizes if it meets hot liquid all at once, so this order matters.
- 2
Whisk in the rest of the 300ml of oat milk, the 10g of cocoa powder and a quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Set the pan over medium-low heat and warm for 6 minutes, whisking, until it steams and the cocoa has fully dissolved.
- 3
Take the pan off the heat and let it stand for 1 minute, then pour it into a blender with the torn date and 30g of pea protein powder. Blend for 30 seconds until smooth. Pea protein is grittier than whey, so give it the full blend.
- 4
Pour into a mug and drink it warm, or cool it and keep it in the fridge for up to three days.
